Join us on Saturday, November 16 from 2 - 5 PM for the closing reception of Girl in the Garden: Danger in Paradise!
Girl in the Garden, a solo exhibition of new work by Amie Potsic, addresses climate change through the complex viewpoints of girlhood, Magical Realism, and deforestation. With site-specific installations, large-scale photographic prints, and mixed media works, Ms. Potsic collaborates with Hot Bed, a unique horticulture and fine art gallery, to produce an encompassing exploration of feminine reckoning, the forested life-blood of our planet, and the fate of humankind. Ms. Potsic challenges our assumptions about female agency while conjuring a strong and personal connection to the forest and our future. Comingling narrative, contemplation, and immersive experience, her work invites a creative dialogue around climate change, the disruption of gender expectations, and the power of imaginative action.
